With Fiona Smith.
Saturday 30 June 2018: 10am - 4pm.
You will use a good-quality soap base and additional ingredients, such as skin-friendly and expensive additional oils, essential oils, dried botanicals, kitchen spices, milk powder, mica powder and colorants.
Melt-and-pour is an easy and enjoyable way of devising and making soap bars to suit your own requirements, that does not have the safety risks of cold-process soap-making.
Intermediate decorative techniques covered will include layering, chunking and suspending objects in soap. Also covered will be the basics of essential oil blending and how to devise your own recipes. Participants will go home with around 800g of decorative soap, plus a handout giving instructions for all the techniques used, safety advice, and advice on where to obtain supplies. A fun and productive workshop for beginners.
Please bring the following with you: apron, cutting board, sharp knife.
£60 per person. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
Suitable for beginners as well as those who have made soap previously. Suitable for children aged 11+ provided they are accompanied by a parent or carer.
Note: If you'd like to take part in the workshop and are pregnant or may be pregnant, please contact us prior to booking, as essential oils will be used on the course.
